Project Scope: The Film Lab approached us on behalf of Walmart Canada, who wanting to capture the story of one of their store managers, Tanvir. She moved to Canada in 2008 not knowing a word of English. Shortly after landing in Calgary her sister needed a sweater, so they went to their local Walmart to get her one. After they walked in, Tanvir noticed that very store was looking for new associates so she decided to apply for her first job in Canada. Within 48 hours of landing in a brand new country and not knowing the language, she had a job. Now, 15 years later, she is a store manager. It was a huge honour for us to capture this project and tell Tanvir’s amazing story. After production finished, we sent what we captured to the agency in Toronto to be edited.
